Exercise plays a vital role in helping to clear their airways - things like running, trampolining, surfing, skateboarding, horse riding and weight lifting are all great exercises for CF'ers. Yet many of our members have significant mental health issues, especially as they reach late teens, realising that potentially half their life is gone already.

Huon She Shed

The Huon She Shed, Inc is a non-profit organisation that aims to provide a safe, inclusive environment for women of all ages, backgrounds, identities and capabilities where they can gather and learn basic building, metal working and wood working skills. Our goal is to upskill women and give them the confidence to be able to undertake their own minor repairs, as they may not have access to tools or know how to use them. But we need support for a range of non-electric hand tools to establish a "library" of tools for the members to use in the Shed and through a borrowing/lending system.

$1,000 will help us secure a number of these necessary tools that members can use in a safe, secure, learning and nurturing environment whilst learning skills to build confidence, become independent and carry out their own minor repair work without having to call an expensive and often difficult to find trades person.
